Amon-Ra is the Ancient Egyptian deity of wind, sunlight, wealth, power, conquest, & fertility.

He was the King of all the Gods of Egypt.

Amon-Ra became important during the 18th Dynasty, following the expulsion of the Hyksos Invaders.

The Theban Princes who ruled in Upper Kemt prayed to Amon-Ra to liberate them.  When their prayers were answered, Amon-Ra became the State Deity from the new capital at Thebes.   Other Pharaohs of the 18th Dynasty used the influence of Amon-Ra for political purposes.  Queen Hatshepsut became Pharaoh from propaganda that she was his 'bodily daughter.'  Amonhotep 3 Nebmaatra once prayed to himself, and was answered, thereby causing himself to be deified by his people (worshiped as a god).   His son (Akhenaton or Amonhotep 4) broke with tradition and used Science as his new God, the Aton.  Akhenaton built open-ceiling temples of Aton (the solar orb) so he could watch the Sun "drink his offerings" via evaporation.  Another lesser important Pharaoh was King Tutankhuaton ("desert mirage") who was the heir to Akhenaton, who some now believe was the son of Akhenaton, the "heretic king." Tutankhuaton preserved Kemt by removing the new experimental religion of Atonism, as riots and unrest were present.  Atonism was approached without respect of the other gods, whose temples suffered damaged when Atonism was forced on the people in later years of Akhenaton's reign. Tut changed his name to Tutankhamon, to benefit the Amon Priesthood and prevent a civil war over religion.  His new name now meant: "reflection of the Hidden One," or 'something that disappears'.

Amon-Ra was even present during the time of Macedonian Conqueror, Alexander the Great.  At Siwa Oasis there was the Oracle temple of Ammon.  Alexander visited it and was tested.  He became "Son of Ammon," after his examination.  In later years, Amon-Ra was identified with foreign solar gods and his worship declined.  During the Islamic Period Amon-Ra's identity may have influenced the Arab religion of 'Allah, as Supreme Ruler of the Universe.  As Islam was influenced by the Hebrew religion, and the Hebrews obtained their ideas from all other contemporaries like Babylon and Kemt, the identity of AmonRa became associated with One God concepts.  Amon-Ra being the "Hidden One" + Sun allows him to be perceived as a hidden God, or Divine Spirit.
